Prior to joining the Trust, Ian carried out microbiology research and completed a PhD in Genetics at the University of Liverpool. Alongside his studies, Ian carried out a number of roles involved in science communications.

Ian currently lives in Bebington and, alongside his work for the Children's University, runs a science communications blog group based in Liverpool.
