A UNIQUE graduation ceremony takes place at St German's Cathedral in Peel this month. All those wearing gowns and mortar boards and proudly celebrating their achievements will be aged five to 14. The children are the first graduates of the Children's University, launched in the Isle of Man a year ago.
A group of 15 children from Wembrook Primary School in Nuneaton have been spending Saturday mornings undertaking musical masterclasses, called Musical Maestro, at the University of Warwick. Musical Maestro has been created for the Children's University scheme, which encourages children from all backgrounds to participate in extra-curricular activities.
Plymouth University has been praised for it's work with young people. The Chief Executive of the Children's University said the organisation's Devon branch, which was launched in April last year, is "ahead of the curve".
The Devon branch of an international programme that is working to inspire children and youngsters through learning experiences outside of the classroom has been described as "visionary" by the national Chief Executive.
