Downloadable Learning Destination activities

We are working with a number of our national learning partners to create a range of activities which support children's independent learning, and can also be used by groups of children and their families.

To begin the collection we have developed a Forest Trail with the Forestry Commission and a Creative Arts Explorer pack with Bigfoot Creative Arts. Details of how to complete the activities and gain time in the Learning Passport are included within the pack.

We will be adding more activities soon, and would love to hear your feedback and suggestions for further activities.

Please click on the below links to download the activities:

MY (CHILD'S) KENT CHILDREN'S UNIVERSITY MEMORIES

  • You can download cover and review sheets to add to a folder or scrapbook, documenting each year your child has participated in KCU activities and opportunities.
  • You can complete the sheets with your child each year!  It should make a nice memento of their time with KCU!
  • You can download these sheets here.
  • You could use this folder/scrapbook to contain:
  1. KCU certificates and awards
  2. Graduation photographs
  3. KCU Challenge evidence
  4. Evidence from Learning Destinations such as photographs, activity packs, trails, recommendations and reviews
  5. Completed downloadable activities from National Children's University and/or Kent Children's University
  6. Validated competition entries e.g. 500 Words, Wicked Young Writers' Award, 100 Million Minute Reading Challenge

KCU SEASONAL CHALLENGES

Kent Children's University produces three seasonal Challenges a year plus some ad hoc activities for families to enjoy at home.  You can find the current Challenges here.

Our Challenges are suitable for children aged 5-14 but have been completed by younger and older children.

Support materials and ideas for inspiration can be found on our Kent Children's University Facebook page.  Why don't you take a look to see what you can find!

You can also find out more about our past KCU Challenges by visiting our Downloadable Learning Activities section of the website.

If you would like more information about Kent Children's University or this Challenge, please email kcu@theeducationpeople.org or call 03000 417232
